We were born in the 50's to the baby boomer generation. That also put us as part of the hippie generation in the late 60's and early 70's. Because we were a part of the hippie generation, we experimented with drugs like so many others did during that time.

We met each other as teenagers, and married right after high school. In two short years of marriage, we were broken and lost because of the lifestyle we were living. One Sunday in 1974, Lynda was invited to The Amazing Prophecy Center in Anaheim, California. I didn't realize that I was going to a church (seriously)! Not understanding the true meaning of prophecy, I thought I was going to get my fortune told. (I guess I did in a way) That morning, I gave my heart to the Lord as I went forward to pray for Chuck as he had become addicted to several types of drugs and recently had been arrested for selling drugs and our marriage was falling apart.

That simple act of surrender and crying out for help for Chuck, changed me forever. Within three months, Chuck gave is heart to the Lord while on drugs in the middle of early fall night. God was moving mightily in our lives. Chuck was instantly delivered from addiction and abuse. The Lord began to heal us from the inside out!

The Lord moved us to the desert within a year and a half and we began a bible study in 1980 which grew into a strong and vibrant church. During these years the Lord blessed us with two lovely children and now we have six grandchildren.

God has rebuilt our lives and blessed our home with His love and peace as we continued to serve Him. He has given us over 50 years of marriage and over 45 years of ministry. These years of ministry have been precious to us as we have watched so many lives be changed by the power of God's Word, including our own.

We have always had a heart for marriage during all our years of ministry and continue to do so. Having attended many marriage ministry programs and seminars, and having led many ourselves over the years, we have seen God restore and renew so many marriages. We have had the opportunity to be speakers at many marriage conferences, retreats and weekend seminars. We have a passion for the teaching the Word of God. We are so grateful that God has used us around the globe to encourage, exhort and inspire hearts through the truths found in the Word of God.

After 42 years of pastoring Calvary Chapel Desert Light of Bullhead City, we have recently passed the senior position to our assistant, Pastor Mike Kern and his wife Melissa. We will remain a part of Calvary Chapel Desert Light ministering to and encouraging the body of Christ.

We are excited about this NEW season of ministry and the opportunities to strengthen and encourage the body of Christ, where the Lord leads us.
